for the rest of their lives. Poverty rate is high for women who never had a profession of their own. Trusted to be taken care of.

So, yes, earning power is important. And as I mentioned above, too many men want their spouses to stay home with the kids. And too many women are not familiar with the financial situation of the family only to find out too late about savings and investments that never existed, pension that does not exist and a house mortgaged to the roof.
