For one, Russia can't even protect its own borders from Ukraine and they certainly are in no position to threaten the US in its own backyard, especially militarily, and China isn't going to do anything militarily in the US backyard.

I agree with what China and Russia are saying that Ven. is a sovereign nation and can develop it's own relations with other countries, but there is very little they can do to stop the illegal seizure of "suspected" ships carrying sanctioned cargo other than a strongly worded letter to the UN which would just be vetoed by Flim Flam Man.
