this (and more) were promulgated when gas prices were manageable.

Car pooling. Public transportation. Proper inflation of tires. Regular tune-ups. Cleaning of certain engine valves. Keeping track of mileage. Organizing errands. Driving within the speed limit. Switching to EV. Smaller cars.
