I remember when the US went into Iraq in 2003. He was taking calls on a local radio station and some callers were whining about how France wouldn't go in with us. He dealt with all the callers skillfully, explaining the carnage France went through in the world wars and how it created a mentality of pacifism. He never insulted anyone or lost his temper, he just gave calm and rational explanations.
