7. There are so many in need of loving homes.

Adoption is such a loving thing to do. It's just so hard losing them. I've told myself that if the Universe wants me to have another dog or cat it will happen. That's actually how we wound up with our last dog. She found us when we were camping. Most likely she had been dumped. She got along well with our other dog...most of the time. She had her odd moments but damn, I sure miss her.
