3. That first love is always purest

I immediately thought of the quote below:

For all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these, “It might have been.” – John Greenleaf Whittier


But, really that first love opens us to the possibility of what we will feel, what we will open ourselves to. It's like a practice run for the real relationships ahead of us.

I had a crush on a guy in h.s. Nothing developed from it. As far as I know, my undying love was never requited by him. I moved away and saw my classmates from that school 2 more times, but never saw him.

I'm happy to say that the best man in the world was waiting for me, for when I was ready, and by the machinations of the gods, we met
