3. Before my mom died at the age of 93

my daughter sent her a question every day regarding her life story. My mother was very computer savvy and typed out her responses. When all of the questions were complete, my daughter put it all together, along with relevant photos, and had several copies printed and bound. My mother passed away in 2021 and hardly a week goes by that I don't wish she was here to answer more questions. If you are fortunate to have relatives who are older or growing older, think about capturing their life stories. I was able to share with my cousins wonderful stories about their parents (my mother's siblings) that they had never heard. Our parents rarely discussed their lives during the Great Depression or WWII. My mother's memories really enriched our own family bonds and reminded us that, like everyone else's families, we came from strong stock and could weather our own trials and tribulations, heartache, fears, and disappointments. Even the most mundane families both shape and leave behind the inspiration needed to endure and to thrive, however small or unimportant our place in this world may be.
