(4,099 posts)59. LUTEFISK! A neighbor took me to a church supper. It looked like normal cod fish.
Its actually preserved cod soaked in lye, rehydrated and cooked. Has the consistency of gelatin.

My mother used to make that awful crap. And she'd make pig stomach and fake mashed potatoes. Ugh.
