89. Ok This was from the NY Times about printing money...

My underline

"Printing presses require a set of three to four metal plates, which take up to eight days to produce. The images are transferred to the plates using what are essentially giant cookie cutters, known as steel dies. Then the plates must be cleaned and polished."

So a "cookie cutter" goes through so to speak - it's an open item; not engraving or etching where the base material remains mostly uncut into.

The photo shows a big plate with multiples of the (dollar) bills image. However it looks like you can see through it sort of. A lot of it is intricate, so not so easy to see through.
So that seems cookie cutter-ish where the ink goes right the holes.

I'd show you but suddenly the procedure for using Post Image is different. (I wanted to share something on DU about few days ago and couldn't use P I like I used to.
