It's never, "Oh shit! I'm late for work!" as they jump out of bed & dash for the bathroom.

I was willing to sleep with the curtains open when my neighbor first put up his Christmas lights, many years ago, but you can't see them lying in bed. In the summer when I sleep with the window open, the curtain is open as far as the window, otherwise, my curtains are closed.

We had neighbors across the street whose living room window faced our house & they never closed their curtains. Every night the two of them sat there with their dog. They were early 50s & working professionals, not old coots. I thought it was odd, then I found out they lived out in the country in a rural area for many years, & were planning on moving back. Even in the country I closed my curtains.
