Question about bank cards/fraud alert [View all]

Am I the only one who gets peeved when my bank sends an email that says: We received information indicating that your card may have been compromised at an undisclosed merchant then goes on to say they're issuing a new card? I only have one card, but what a pain in the arse it is when you get a new card, new number, new expiration date and pay all your bills online! This is the second time in about three years that this has happened to me.

I guess what really gets me is the "undisclosed merchant" part. Does that mean they can't tell you which merchant compromised my card or does it mean they have no clue which merchant compromised it?
