Morels are delicious, but you must clean them before using. It is typical that foraged morels will have not only dirt but also bugs.

Trim the end, slice them in half (lengthwise),, and let them soak in salted water. Then, you pluck them from the soak, dry them on paper towels, and use them -- soon....! (Some will tell you to avoid the soak, which is probably okay if they are clean -- cultivated or from a producer.)... Saute in butter, shallots, splash of white wine - maybe some herbs (I like thyme). They are particularly good with spring vegetables (and pasta, yes) -- peas, ramps, or asparagus.
