37. The waves of grief strike in the oddest times...

There are times when you think you're going to be ok, that you can handle it without crumbling, then the sight of something will draw you back into the depth of your loss. I've done grief so many times, I know how this works, but I still am sometimes fooled by the moments of distraction when I think I'll be healed quickly. It just takes as long as it takes and you can relieve it at moments, but it will have its due.

We are going to plant a small flower garden on our boy's grave in the back yard, where he and I shared so many wonderful mornings and evenings. The flowers will remind me he is always with me, even if his body is no longer here.
