6. Well, I'd be very reluctant to leave here, and...

I guess what I am thinking is more of a senior living complex. Maybe when I'm around 75-78...something like that. I probably don't have to worry about it though, because I'll be lucky to live that long.

My mom lived on the 10th floor of a senior complex, with a nice view. It was quiet, clean, had a superintendent on premises, etc. When I used to visit her, I used to think "I could probably live like this".

I'd have to put all my stuff in storage...the basement and the garage are full. I have million tools.

But mentally, I don't know if I could handle selling this place because I've put so much work into it...it would break my heart.

The ideal solution, depending on our health status, is to remain here as long as possible. If we get too crippled up, we'd both live on the first floor (currently, spouse stays pretty much downstairs, and I stay pretty much upstairs). I have to sleep in a recliner because of my back, and she sleeps in the bedroom. I could then hire work out, but, and this is a real concern for me...I'm a perfectionist, and nobody ever does as good as a job that I do, and that causes me stress. That's why I decided to learn how to do stuff myself...no one ever does it like the homeowner that CAN do it. No one cares about your home like you yourself do.

Sorry...I'm just ruminating here. I hate thinking about what the next 5 to 10 years might bring, but I guess I have to start thinking about it.

Edit to add: Be careful on that ladder. I was shaky up there too. Kept thinking "If I fall, I'm dead". And I wasn't all that high up either.
