I effing hate getting my car smogged! Five years ago my check engine light came on just before the test. Smog stations [View all]

here won’t run the test if the CE light is illuminated. Long story short, the dealer wanted nearly $1,000. to replace a faulty sensor and I couldn’t find another mechanic who would do the work for less.

So,…I bought an OBD reader to erase the error code and reset the CE light. I then have to complete a drive cycle to reset the monitors. A pain in the ass, but a hell of a lot cheaper than $1,000.!
