It was the only fast food option in our small town and a trip there was always exciting.
The real treat was when Dad would pick up Popeyes on his way home from the city.

My father would not eat fast food, he considered all fried food unhealthy.

After a day at the beach, my parents would take us to A&W for a frosted glass of root beer as a treat

My family never bought fast food . The first time I had it was with a friend and his family at some drive through.

Burger King. Not the chain one. This was a locally owned and operated joint that pre-dated the chain.
