Jay Ward got his start in advertising. I remember being in the third grade and hearing Jay Ward do a commercial to the radio station my mother listened, probably WGAR. He claimed he was going to make Lake Michigan into the worlds largest ice cream soda. He drained the lake, filled it with Ice cream from dump trucks, pumped tons of chocolate syrup and whipped cream, with a helicopter dropping the world's largest maraschino cherry on top with all the correct sound effects. Then he said, "Try THAT on television!"
