Austin had / has a respectable punk scene as well. My two older brothers introduced me to the cosmic cowboy culture of early 70’s Austin, Armadillo World Headquarters, all of the Gilbert Shelton cartoons... I was born 10 years late. By the time I lived there in ’89 the punk scene was hopping, and on into the 2000’s with bands like the one my friend played drums in, including “The Oklahomos” and “Skatenigs” (more hellbilly than punk).

Hope you’ve been well, man.
