Not exactly socialist (which, at the time, would have probably been deemed communist).

But, they are highly enjoyable and feature some of the biggest stars of the era.

Some of my favorites: It Happened One Night (1934), Modern Times (1936), My Man Godfrey (1936), Holiday (1938), You Can't Take it with You (1938), Mr Smith Goes to Washington (1939), and The Grapes of Wrath (1940).
