I'm glad you zoomed in on the barbs! The barbs (papillae) are a cat's grooming comb.

The lens is a 35mm f1.8 "macro", but it's a 1:2 life-size reproduction ratio, so not a true macro, which is 1:1. Still, it works well for everything from closeups to landscapes.
