More than 180,000 ballots have been returned with less than a month to go before California’s primary election on June 2, according to a data firm used by political campaigns.

Data from Political Data Inc., as of Friday, showed that nearly 1% of the state’s 22,983,257 ballots had been returned.

The turnout rate for Democrats so far is 0.7% and for Republicans 1.1%. Those who declined to state a party had a turnout rate of 0.6%.

Voters ages 65 and older had a turnout rate of 1.7%, which is the highest.
