1. I had wondered why this year's PBS broadcast of A Capitol Fourth starts 10 pm this year EST

Might the DC event timing be in competition with the event planned for Los Angeles?

I anticipate the crowds to be thinned (compared to 1976) as people (especially families with smaller children) may find it too late for them. ((Of course, there's now also a long list of "do not bring this".))
