while here at home we do the opposite with their people.

I was stationed in Germany twice; once in the 80s and once in the 90s. In order to drive there we had to take an on=base drivers course and pass a written road test while being able to identify approximately 40 international signs, all in English. We didn't have to know a word of German other than Auffahrt and Ausfahrt (entrance and exit).
