1. Like many southern states, Georgia has no consistent standard for substitute teachers.

If you are a high school grad and want to make $82.05 per day, you can substitute.

Texas is similar. I lived in Corpus Christi for a few years and my wife regularly worked as a substitute in that district with only a high school diploma. She wasn't expected to actually teach. She was just the adult in the room.

I don't think sleeping was one of the options though.
