CONYERS — A teacher at a Rockdale County public school has been suspended after a video that allegedly shows him berating a student surfaced on social media.
The video allegedly shows Paul Hagan, the chair of the science department and an electronics instructor at Rockdale Career Academy, making derogatory comments to a student in class. The video was posted to Facebook late last week.
“You screw with me, you’re going to be in big a— trouble,” the instructor said in the video. “Don’t smile at me, man. That’s how people like you get shot. I got a bet, I bet by the time you’re 21, somebody’s going to put a bullet right in your head. And it might be me the one that does it. ”
The video was apparently recorded by an RCA student in the classroom and was posted on Facebook by the parent of the student reportedly berated by Hagan. In the post, the parent calls for the removal of Hagan, who has been with Rockdale County Public Schools since 2010.
