Those who have followed the news know that Pat Quinn has been working for a very long time to promote the general welfare of the entire population of the State of Illinois. He started the Citizens' Utility Board to advocate for citizens against unfair utility rates, and helped to reform the Cook County Board of Tax Appeals.
Quinn ran the State Treasurers' Office efficiently while encouraging the banks to grant low-interest loans, and he worked to get the Illinois Whistle Blowers Protection bill and the Inspector Misconduct bill passed.
As Lt. Gov., he helped to get the Illinois Military Family Relief Act passed. He launched the Sister Rivers Initiative , helped to halt the destruction of Native American sites on Plum Island near Starved Rock State Park, and pushed for the creation of the Green Government Coordinating Council to work toward sustainable solutions.
As Governor, Quinn established the Illinois Reform Commission to enact a strong ethics code, enacted the largest construction program in Illinois history which has repaired much of our infrastructure while supporting 400,000 jobs, launched the Illinois Clean Water initiative, which created thousands more jobs, provided loans to help small businesses grow, and partnered with Ford and Chrysler to help create more than 4,000 more jobs in that sector. Governor Quinn has promoted Illinois business around the world. He helped get a Canadian company to move their North American headquarters to Elgin, Illinois, and a German company to establish their North American headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Pat Quinn is a true public servant, and he works for ALL the people of the State of Illinois!
