1. I was very disappointed when Andrew Zwicker did not run for Congress.

The first time I ever spoke to him, he was doing just that, at a community fair, although he was relatively unknown and a long shot. I viewed him as a Rush Holt wannabe, but he proved to be very much more than that.

I got to know him better. He's a remarkable man, a great asset to the Princeton area community where he hosts Science on Saturday at PPPL each winter.

I will of course vote for our nominee Adam Hamawy, but it will be bittersweet. I'm pleased to vote for the combat physician/patriot who saved Tammy Duckworth's life when she was wounded in the Iraq war, but I wish I was voting for a physicist. (In the primary I voted for a neuroscientist; we have a district filled with highly educated impressive candidates. My guy, Sam Wang came in third out of 12.)
