Unlike the lake states and northern Great Planes, Latinos are also more widespread in rural areas in Texas. I am old enough to remember driving to Colorado from Dallas through Wichita Falls and Amarillo as a kid and that most of the population was white. That was in the late 1960’s.

I’ve driven to and from Central Texas to New Mexico and Colorado through similar routes and the population is a whole lot browner than it was before I started getting acne.
