My grandmother changed the spelling of her name from Jenkins to Jinkens after this affair. lol

My grandmother's family settled in Amarillo (before it had a name) in the Tascosa area. Her family continued on during the Sooners and lived in a Conastog wagon with a dug out. She told me about the lush fields and vernal pools and wild flowers everywhere.

She didn't want to be identified by those members of the family. I can't find another Jinkins in the family tree, the rest seem to just be Jenkins.
