1. That gesture doesn't improve DOJ's attempt to convict Comey.

My law partner and I were defending an indigent woman who was also a victim of domestic violence. We were up against the state's head Deputy Attorney General, not just the county's. We were working for free and it was our first case. The State desperately wanted to terminate our client's parental rights and have her five children adopted together by their foster parents.

Everyone told us our quest was hopeless. The state's DAG had the money, the experience, and the prestige of the office in front of the judge. We plowed on. Even the attorney for the children wanted the termination of rights.

And 14 years ago, after 4-1/2 years since the children were removed, the judge returned them. It was a true David-Goliath moment as an attorney.

The DOJ can move its counsel around all it wants. Doesn't mean it's going to win a bad case.
