4. A man planned a gender-reveal party for his pregnant wife

This was several years ago in the Catskills north of NYC. The day before the big party, the man and his brother went to the family farm to practice the pyrotechnics that would reveal the baby's gender to the extended family.

They set up their display and lit the fireworks. The contraption instantly exploded killing the father-to-be and severely injuring his brother.

Unfortunately, the man is not eligible for the vaunted Darwin Award as his baby was born so his genes will go on.
