the southwest corner around Darlington is pretty cool also. I sort of have my eye on Viroqua. I could also take New Glarus. Years ago I wanted to go for a 6 week college summer course on the Red Cliff Reservation up on Lake Superior that was all about living like it was 200 years ago. No phones no modern anything. Catch and gather what you eat and learn the tribal ceremonies etc. A few years back I told the story here about my encounter with one of these fellows pictured below in the Chequamegon National Forest that was one of the most beautiful and memorable experiences of my life.
