13. It was a phenomenal experience

for me. I had been driving along on an overcast morning and was all alone going through the Chequamegon. Sort of lost in my thoughts of my life. I was just driving about 50mph or so when I spotted something that looked like a tall stump in the middle of the road. As I got close I suddenly realized it was an eagle. I hit the brakes and came to a stop while looking in my mirrors to see if there was anybody behind me.

But when I looked back through the windshield the eagle was gone. So I slowly started up again and kept rolling easy while "coming to" from what had just happened. Suddenly I looked out my side window and the eagle was now flying along my side so close I could've reached out and touched it. His head was even with my window and at the same level as me. I was immediately struck and highly emotional to have such a beautiful experience. He kept flying with me for bout a half mile before he was suddenly gone. I looked around but didn't spot him again. It was a deeply spiritual impact for me and it took miles for me to stop crying. I was so happy and had such a wonderful feeling of peace.
