2. A lot is being written about wildfire related pollution, particularly at the urban/wilderness interface.

It's very scary.

There are times where one doesn't really want to know. I can't help coming across this stuff though, since there are certain journals, EST that I am committed to survey for the rest of my life.

An exigent example:

The fires in LA/Pacific Palisades/Altadena are going to be a very serious pollution issue for a very long time; we've only scratched the surface of knowing how bad that's going to be over the long term.

(LA is an adventure in wild toxicology; I'm glad I don't live in the LA basin anymore. Wait until those dumped DDT side product drums off of Palos Verdes fully degrade.)
