3. My siblings and I grew up in the Los Angeles basin.

It wouldn't surprise me if some of our chronic health problems are attributable to that.

Aside from the smog, much of the animal protein we ate as children came from fish my dad, (and later we ourselves) caught off the Los Angeles coast.

Those same fish almost killed off the brown pelicans living along the California coast.
