Over 50 Countries Meet in Brussels to Boost Ukraine Support - TVP World News - TVP WORLD [View all]

A group of more than fifty countries are meeting at NATO Headquarters in Brussels to discuss further support for Ukraine. The Ukraine Defence Contact Group, started by the United States, is taking place without a U.S. defense secretary for the very first time.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has proposed a temporary ceasefire with Russia, calling for calm until a direct meeting with President Vladimir Putin can be arranged. This comes after the June 2 peace talks in Istanbul, which yielded limited progress. However, both sides exchanged proposals and agreed on a major prisoner swap, expected to take place this weekend.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has openly questioned the point of peace talks with Ukraine after accusing Kyiv's leadership of ordering, quote “deadly terrorist attacks on bridges in Russia.”
