1. Kindrativka looks to be about 5 miles from the nearest Russia border as the crow flies.

In the other direction, it looks like the highway into Ukraine that connects the border town of Kindrativka to Sumy center (around 17-18 miles, some distance from the border) is now blocked to the Russians. That highway then runs from Sumy to Kharkiv and a bunch of other towns along it. Looks, indeed, like Ukraine's gain of control over of that highway entry point shows a big win against Russian logistics and power projection for that region between that highway and the other 353 miles of Ukraine border where there are no other land entries. That black line inside the blue highway line is the Ukraine/Russia border, and a big chunk of it, too.
