Tchernobyl was a graphite cooled reactor. Fukushima and zapoichia are water cooled reactors. But all reactors today are super critiical reactors, but one : the Belgian Myrrha reactor which is a sub critical reactor. What is the difference? Critical means that even if the plant does not produce electricity, you need electricity to avoid disaster. Because you have so much uranium that once sparked it keeps going.
