Israel extends detention of Dr Hussam Abu Safia for six months without charges or trial

Israel has extended by six months the administrative detention of Dr Hussam Abu Safia, who was abducted from northern Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital last year and held without charge or trial.

Abu Safia’s family confirmed on social media that “the Israeli court has extended his administrative detention for another six months, despite his name having previously appeared among those discussed for release.”

“The family expressed deep concern over his continued detention and reaffirms full trust in the legal team and all humanitarian efforts working toward his freedom. The family also calls on relevant institutions, human rights organizations, and the negotiating parties to actively address his case and work toward his immediate release,” the statement added.
