Only had it once when I broke my arm, they gave me a small dose in the ambulance. Felt relief from pains I didn’t know I had until they were gone, and that was from a dose so small I barely felt high. That being said, I don’t think opioids are appropriate for long or even medium term use since they are highly addictive and become less effective over time.

If you’re old enough to remember Darvon, now that was a painkiller that didn’t relieve pain, at least it didn’t for me.
