2. My mother had diverticulosis attacks for years.

At age 88, she had 1/3 of her intestines removed to resolve her increasingly frequent attacks. She lived five more years and the diverticulitis was a thing of the past.

It'll take a while to get back to normal, but you'll be happy that you had this done.
