I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm assuming he was a Psychiatrist who also provided counseling. Many Psychiatrist's main function is to prescribe and monitor medication.

I have a wonderful Psychiatrist who I only need to have a session two times per year (unless I want to explore the options of having a medication change). During those times, we do touch base on what's happening in my life but it's not full-fledged counseling (like with a therapist).

I'd be very surprised if your current Psychiatrist won't have an excellent recommendation for you.
