What's for Dinner, Thurs., Dec. 11, 2025 [View all]

Fish tacos with "zesty sauce." Has red cabbage, tomatoes, avocado, cilantro, cotija cheese. I'm using flounder.

Cherry-ginger kombucha.

Maybe one chocolate from the selection the RG sent me.

Last night's Paint 'n Sip holiday party had a long buffet of casual food that people could have before or on a break from painting. My favorite was the sushi, which was top quality and plenty of it. That's mostly what I had.

Plates of sandwiches like reubens (in a buffet tray to keep them warm), barbecue chicken, meatloaf, tuna, and Italian subs.

For dessert, they had some kind of setup where people could make s'mores over an electric grill. Also cheesecake, fruitcake and varieties of Christmas cookies. I passed on the desserts--just too much food.

The "sip" part was no-alcohol fruit drinks. They were really pretty! They had someone making them and they were filled with fruit like cranberries, some with pineapple and grapes, etc.

The painting was well, a little sketchy, I thought, because I could not hear the instructor and had to guess what to do. Many other people did well with it, though. We were given an easel and a canvas frame. Paints were on a paper plate "palette." You had to mix your own colors. Several different sizes of brushes. The end result was a picture of a colorful horizon with mountains and trees.
