11. This will be our first test of really bad winter weather

here in this house and little city. We've lived here a few years, but the worst winter weather (especially ice storms) we went through were in Kansas City. During an "October Surprise" tree limbs took out electric lines AND transformers, and we were without power for almost 3 weeks. We ate a lot of cold food, as well as fast food. Our bed at the time was a waterbed; you can imagine how THAT felt, so we made camping beds in the front room by the fireplace. Our yard now is filled with trees, including bradford pears. If the snow that falls is the heavy, wet kind, I figure we're going to be out of electricity. I guess we could hope for the soft, fluffy kind... but when did things ever work out for the best in this kind of situation?! (LOL)
