Day two with Rosie [View all]

Well, last night produced little sleep for me. One of my cats wouldn't come in and I obsessed over him and tried many times to get him to come in. I trapped him in the basement this morning and he has a way to come into the house now.

These are the things that I decided about Rosie; she of course has PTSD. She was in a home with domestic abuse. The woman went to a shelter and is waiting for a bed in a nursing home. I don't know if that's rehab nursing or long term. He's in jail. Rosie and her cat mates were left in a trailer without food or water, and I have no idea how long that lasted. The rescue said the trailer was filled with feces and urine, so it must have been some days. Rosie has abandonment issues, which is why she's a velcro dog. When I leave the room, she follows. Last night I tried the kennel, but she also seems to have claustrophobia and being locked in a room or her kennel throws her into a panic, and she absolutely freaks out. She is definitely a house dog and sits on furniture and demands to sleep on the bed.

I'm taking her to our shelter today and get her rabies shot, check for her being spayed and get tick and flea medicine. Then I'm getting an appointment with a vet to see if I can get her some antianxiety meds to help her calm down.

Meanwhile, the household is in an uproar and the cats are livid. Mr. WT is rather annoyed and I'm juggling the entire crew to keep some semblance of peace and harmony. Happy New Year to us!
