9. Magicarpet, you seem to be wise about pups, people and veggies. I have a question.

My twelve year old girl Daphne has kidney disease. Her sister died because of it at age nine. It was far advanced before we knew of it. Daph is on Dr. Harvey's Canine Health which is mostly oatmeal with lots of veggies and nutrients mixed in. I add two ounces of either steamed lean ground beef or cooked egg whites twice a day, alternating between the two. She also gets fish oil daily. For treats she has cukes, apple, blueberries, broccoli and an occasional carrot bite. She loves all of it. Any reason not to give her sweet potato, too?

Most of the time fortunately, she's a true omnivore and loves fruits and veggies. There are times, however, when I wish she'd be a bit picky - any kind of Epsoma organic fertilizer, Vitamin D capsules in a bottle left by our dog nanny which one of the girls was able to unscrew, porcupine poop which I know has probiotics, but . . . and a very large Costco cheese pizza left in the front hall to which one of the cats was able to open the door. The cheese pizza I understand, the rest I don't. Can't take the dog out of the poodle, I guess

Love them no matter what. Sometimes not the kisses.
