I looked for her earlier and found her in one of her favorite spots in the basement. I petted her, which she seemed to like. Later I went looking for her again and couldn't find her anywhere. I was in a panic until I finally found her on a pile of clothes in my bedroom closet (new spot). I sat with her and gave her scritches and she purred. I picked her up and sat down on the bed, put her my lap and petted her and she purred the whole time.
I decided to call my regular vets tomorrow to see if I can get her in. They all know her over there and it's privately owned. If I can't, then of course, I'll have to go to the emergency vet. Last year when I took Martini there, I got lost (Mapquest sucks) and drove around aimlessly for 45 minutes. I'm sure it would be 10 times worse at night.
My regular vets are expensive but not as expensive as the emergency vet would be. I hate to have it come down to money; after all, what price do I put on my cats' health? Unfortunately, since I retired, money always has to be a factor in everything.
I hope my pet friends here at DU will understand and not judge me too harshly.
