The Cat Who Came in with the Cop (Cat Distribution System) [View all]
This follows Pt. 1 by FigarosMom.
True story. Happened to my brother in late March.
Setting: small town. This would only happen in a small town.
Kitchen table. My brother is sorting receipts for his taxes.
Local cop opens the breezeway door on an unseasonably warm day and walks into the kitchen He tells my brother he left the lights on in his vehicle and he turned them off for him. Like I said, small town.
The cop walked in with a calico cat
My brother thanked the officer and was privately amused that the township was now using cats instead of dogs for their detective work.
However, when the cop was ready to leave, he did not take the cat with him. My brother called to the cop as he was getting in his police car and reminded him he left his "partner" behind.
The cop looked at him blankly and said he thought the cat was my brother's. The cat just walked in with him.
My brother returned to the cat and the rest is history.
I wanted to tell this story earlier, but my brother felt obligated to run ads in the local paper seeking the cat's human. The cat is obviously domesticated and was in fine health. My brother took her to the vet for a physical. I didn't know how the story was going to end, but it appears the cat will be staying with him since no one has claimed her.
Here's "Gabby":
