5. This storm is rather scary!

They are hoping the amount of snow here will be less that previously stated but damn, wind chills -20 to -40 expected for a period of one or more days with temps below 0 for several continuous days. My poor horses, it is already miserable with the dampness and little bits of drizzle. The oldest has a coat on but the other two are still robust and so far have haired up well and not been bothered by the coldness creeping in.

My dogs are always in unless they want to be out and we think it is OK for them. My cats at the house are indoors all the time. I do have a barn cat that keeps the area around the barn clean, he comes and goes as much as I have tried to keep him in the barn. He knows all the warm places but if he gets uncomfortable he comes to the house and we have a warm quarter for him in the garage.

No living creature should have to put up with this if there is someone to take care of them but just refuses. Makes me sick and crazy.
