10. I had my first cat when I was a teen

I'd go out in the yard and dig up some dirt. We didn't have litter pans, trash can liners, scoops. I'd put the dirt in a cardboard box, maybe some cardboard under the box, When I had to change it, I'd get the whole thing into another box and throw the whole thing out, usually refill the hole and start fresh. I was probably in my late 20s before I started buying litter, pans, scoops.

My last batch of cats all lived to be 17 to 22. Current cat is 18. I use the unscented scoop litter, trying to buy what my friend used for current kitty, for continuity. I've been curious for awhile about the limits on mixing lol
